More than 1 GPU - how yo use?
More than 1 GPU - how yo use?
In my computer has 3 GPU but Indigo use only one. How to use both at once? AMD A10 and video 2 * Thaiti XT
Re: More than 1 GPU - how yo use?
because Indigo only can use 1 GPU!Garrett wrote:... but Indigo use only one.
Please Glare.... a GPU FAQ is badly needed!!!

Thus have to use the network rendering, 1 GPU in every computer?
It's not rational. ARION calculates the scenes on all devices simultaneously.

If you have multiple computers this is the only way to use your cards atmGarrett wrote:Thus have to use the network rendering, 1 GPU in every computer?
I think I explained that 1001 times in the Forum already...Garrett wrote:It's not rational. ARION calculates the scenes on all devices simultaneously.
Indigo does Hybrid rendering, where the GPU supports the CPU and not like Arion and others starting the whole rendering on each device for itself.

It seems that Indigo is not the variant to use all the power of a farm on AMD GPU
Re: More than 1 GPU - how yo use?
Currently Indigo's hybrid GPU acceleration only supports a single GPU, since the CPU is usually the bottleneck and adding additional GPUs would not be beneficial.
Pure GPU renderers have different pros and cons to hybrid CPU+GPU implementations, where the main downside is reduced feature support and memory limitations, and the main upside is higher performance. We are working on extending our GPU acceleration support, however it's difficult to say when this will be available.

Expand render types on GPU, please.lycium wrote:... We are working on extending our GPU acceleration support, however it's difficult to say when this will be available.
