Don't know how it would look like on a model.

cool material. Say, could you upload it to the forums so I can try rendering it on my improved preview scene? It works much better for displaced materials.

I already increased the subdivs in the standard scene for this, but please try!

Unfortunately, I have overwritten my material file , here is a try to find it again but it will take more time

I just figured out why there are black zones in the material previews. When looking at standard glass material previews, there are tiny bubbles inside the sphere, and I guess they react badly to strong displacement mapping.

Would it be possible to someone to send me a modified version of the preview scene without the bubbles? I am not a blender user.

hey, not sure if this helps, I just deleted the bubbles and hit "export".
Please tell me if it works for you.
