I've just checked the SCE for blender and I think it can really do amazing stuff.
That's thirst render I've made:

That will be my next step, for now I'm sticking with sketchup, whose integration with indigo is algo great (altough the mac version still has some drawbacks, but nothing that can bring trouble).

A small experiment of making a soap bubble material.

Yes, a texture. Blend of phong and specular transparent (0.004/0.996) :)
