He he... exactly naxos!
But You'll benefit from nice real life materials from the material Database that uses them! So you load a Gem material and have for sure a prefect result no mater what comes!
Anyway... I think Indigo is one of the easiest engines regarding options and features to setup... there isn't this much advanced stuff! Compare it to any other engine and you'll end up happy... some "details" like naming of variables are really minor here... take a deep look into Indigo and you'll have a hard time finding complicated stuff...
Indigos advanced render settings for MLT etc. are in 99% of situations NOT to touch (and even then the are only 5 or so)
