Downloading software

Post by sintra » Wed Nov 15, 2006 11:07 pm

Hello,

I am currently trying to download the software (Version 6). How long does this normally take because it seems to be taking forever i started downloading it about 4 hours ago and its still not finished. Is this normal ?

Thanks

It's working fine for me.

Took 2 minutes at the most.

Check your net connection.

Extract the entire folder. You should be able to double click on Indigo.exe and have it run one of the sample scenes right out of the box er zip. There is no installer for Indigo if thats what you were thinking.

When i double click indigo.exe it brings up 2 boxes one with a image of some round pieces of glass and the other a black box with a load of commands in it.

Sorry to be a pain but could you talk me through how you set it up.

Hello sintra,

Welcome here.

I suggest you to first read the FAQ using indigo.
Then read the tutorial blender and Indigo.
They explain the most things about Indigo, you can post after reading this with more precise questions.

Regards, Phil

When you double click Indigo you are loading the renderer. Indigo is a renderer not a modeling program. Indigo loads inifile.txt to load its settings and to select the scene that it will render. The scene is an xml file generated by one of the indigo exporters.

I recommend you check out this to get the feel of setting up the renderer unless you have a different modeling program. (There are multiple translations) (This is the blender tutorial that Phil is talking about)

I hope I haven't offended you by oversimplifying some rather technical data. If so I sorry.
