Why didn't you post the scene? I'm sure someone will crank it out for you. What app did you use for the scene? If it's Blender, I should be able to help . . .

yes ahmadun: post your scene wherever you prefer (i find
www.box.net useful and easy-to-use

). And, yes: specify your modeling application!!

Ouch, that's a box that'll be painful to use any unbiased renderer on.
If you would post the scene, I'm sure one of us would be happy to render it on an idle box for you.

Hi ahmadun,
I'm rendering your scene now - but WOW is it slow for such a simple scene. (Which isn't helping your poor processor try to deal with it)
A quick glance shows two SSS materials, not just SSS, but RGB SSS, which is even slower!
Change your scattering to uniform (this looks like it was exported from Blender, correct?)
I can't visualize where your light in this scene is, either - and switching to PT (which would quickly show any direct light) shows barely anything! So your entire scene is being lit with indirect light (as I only see anything when turning MLT on), THEN going through SSS mediums, before getting to the camera.
Can you show me a wireframe of your scene (again, I'm postulating that you're using Blender) or perhaps the .blend itself?

Haha, you win - I stopped rendering it when I posted, since it's so inefficient.

So this is like the impossible holly grail rendering?

Maximum RAM usage while rendering: 132.48 MB.
Samples Per Pixel (SPP) reached: 25962.
Volume of data merged to produce the final IGI: 8.09 GB
... very different results than the others ...

Actually the RANCH igi merging Software had some bug,
they weighted incorrectly when merging IGIs!
Should be fixed now...
Also Ono told that SSS is buggy,as he told RGB SSS sampling has severe issues,
the more the scattering coefficients vary based on wavelength,
the worse the noise will be...
my SSS RANCH test were unsatisfying too...
