I think you really have a nice lighting here! Congratulations! I think a thing your rooms strongly need to achieve results more close to reality is window curtains. I found that it's not so hard to achieve a good curtain material in Indigo (i use sketchup, but it wouldn't have to be more difficult in Max), and instead of an unreal sky - without any kind of sightseen of the outdoor - i think it would really be effective!
Curious chair in the first image and GREAT carpet in the second one; fantastic painting, above all (Giotto rulez!).
I have to agree with Sax about the floor. The first one is too flat, and the second one is too bumpy and too reflective. A middle way between them should be a perfect material
