The problem is simple : in material editor, with some materials, the preview button doesn't seem to work.
Of course, it maybe a mistake, so here is a screenshot :

Hmm, ... had this problem too! In my case with a diffuse shader. Right now
I can't replicate the problem, but now the preview for blend shader is not
working at all. Dunno what's going on, shellscript is launching but Indigo
does not start! :?

yeap this is true...some times i have discover after the first preview does not work for others....
a quick command line window appears and dissapears nothing else

Could you guys check the log.txt file under Mat_Prev folder in your Exported_From_Max dir right after the indigo_console.exe closes itself (when you press the Preview button)? There should be a reason of "crash" written around the last lines.
It would help me to trace the bug!

Also a note - you can't run 2 previews at the same time.

I just found one thing : th name of material conatains spaces and accents.... after renaming it, it works...
Maybe a problem with empty or special letters.....

I've checked the log file and there is no error, then I checked the "prev_mat.igs"
and for the blend material example, it was wrong! It just contains ...

I checked all the names, replaced suspicious names with basic characters,
but this was not the culprit as I thought.

nb: I'd no problem to launch more previews?!

There is not much info indeed.
Hmm..I never had those errors myself. This one will be tricky to debug.
How offten do you guys get this by the way? Is it something, that sometimes occures or do you get this offten?

i think very offten suvakas.......for example i cant reply this bug on empty scene but on other full scene(full of materials and objects) it happents after 2-3 previews

take your time......its not important bug (at least for me...)


edit..........i noticed suvakas the bug appears to be only in materials who use any bitmaps or nk files....chek it out.....thnx

What's in your Blend material? Any bitmap textures? Mask?

If you guys could find any pattern or some sort of situation when the preview doesn't work, then please let me know. I've been trying a lot of combinations, but everything works fine here. :cry:

I think i discovered something. Can you guys confirm, that this only happens in scenes that are done with previous versions of Maxigo?
The thing is, that older versions export material with uvset named "-none-".
When the material preview is not rendering again, then see, if there is an <uv_set>-none-</uv_set> in prev_mat.igs file and let me know !
