The brushed metal looks nice, but are you shure it is brushed in reality? That should make no sense whatsoever, CPUs need to be as flat as possible (that's why some people lap their CPUs to a mirror finish) in order to give the best possible contact to the cooler. Also you may do some phong shading in the corners. Otherwise nice work :) The PCB looks amazing.

Use png for bump instead of jpg, compression really kicks it off. Nice brushed effect, even if it is not how they are conceved ;)

Nice, but in definitly lacks smoothing (look at the lower right corner of the chip) :D :wink:

The material looks a bit different and your bumps are too strong I think. Maybe smaller too? Seem to be very fine scratches...

If you scale that cpu down to have similar size as your reference photo, I bet, the scratches will either fit or even be smaller :)

BTW, the green part of the CPU could be a bit clearer, and use SSS ;)

Lower the bump, add some slight bump on the writing, and render a version so we can see the 700 BGA points on the back :D
