It would be great if it would be possible to swith visibility of Mesh Light for the rendering on & off,
So there would be more flexibility to light up a Scene with more Light "from nowhere".

yes, but lights in any case simply get a black diffuse material, no matter, what you give them. Even with a null.
the difference is, that the light doesn't simply goes through the lamp (which actually wouldn't be quite realistic), but the ray gets killed, as soon, as it hits the lamp (which also isn't realistic, on one hand, but you wouldn't see the caustics from a light source, anyway, on the other hand, and by immediately killing the ray, you get faster rendering
