A natural situation
Re: A natural situation
Yes contegufo, I know...
So, some things.
The second envelope for clouds by CTZn is great. The only thing is that runs slower.... and now I know why:
The value for max. coef. extinction is 0.05; I usually take 0.01. So this second envelope is faster than the first.
And the first time i use the multifractal function for the landscape.
Clouds volume is about 200x200x2 km. Godrays catched at last!

Testing the built-in multifractal function. Three basis type.

Re: A natural situation
45h of render, is enough for me to see the beauty...
Instead of zoom-in and complain about the noise, zoom-out!
200x200x4 km of volume. Only a part of it. Of course exhaustive.
The beautiful interaction below the clouds (godrays).

What an elaborate way to torture computing machines

Re: A natural situation
hahahahahah....
I don´t need the machine for nothing more I believe.
Thanks Ono.
I´m "trying" to study beaux arts at this moments. I don´t consider myself like an artist. Time and we see... At the moment this is my only composition for art. Stranges disapointments between a net and a mesh. I re-exposed the same igi four times with different azimuth.
I expect to use the machine in a more creative way in the future.

Wooh that looks fluffy <3

Pretty much on point yonosoy, nice clouds !

You are one click away from using textures for elevation control, keep it going !yonosoy wrote:Testing the built-in multifractal function. Three basis type.

Nice yonosoy
I have a question, are the god rays created automaticly after the light passes through the clouds ? Or is there a layer of "fog" under the clouds to catch the density of the rays ?
And by the way could you please tell me what is your computer configuration for your renders to be such clear in that time ?

Re: A natural situation
God rays are a consequence of scattering, so yes they will appear (at a time cost) if a partially occluded, incoming light is passing through a scattering media. In the here case, disabling godrays would also disable clouds in one go, as they are from the same phenomenon (scattered light).Onizuka wrote:I have a question, are the god rays created automaticly after the light passes through the clouds ? Re: A natural situation
Ok thanks for the explanation CTZn,
Then I never rendered clouds long enough to see the god rays
Then I never rendered clouds long enough to see the god rays

Re: A natural situation
Well, the volume must extend below the clouds range so scattering can happen, ie the cloud box bottom must be dragged down to (or better, below) the floor with some non-zero sss value within.

Re: A natural situation
Ah ok I see why there is still no god rays in that test I did before to see your new post ! I'm gonna test the same scene with the cloud box going under the ground.
