Try testing without the bumpmap.
You're right. I did a quick test and even the slightest bump kills the reflections big time. Why is that so? Bad choice of bump texture?

It's because ur bump is too strong, making the surface more like a lambertian material. Turn down the b parameter.

well.. i can't say much without seeing the scene. Missing rocks may be a transform matrix bug

It would be good if you could upload the max scene file to somewhere (of course if it is ok by you to share your art) and PM me the link. I could then take a look at the scene and see what is happening there.
About the DOF...how big is that aquarium and what units do you use?
You could try unchecking Auto-Focus under Camera parameters and place the camera's target manually.

[edit] you can also try to export geometry into different formats and see if the rocks appear or not. Try exporting to XML for example..

That's not enough. If the position matrix is wrong, then they may be misplaced to somewhere else in the scene and not into aquarium.
What geometry format do you use? Did you try xml?

well.. if the rocks show up in some case, then it is not a matrix problem. Might be Indigo or material issue.

Don't know...

Hey Kosmo, I think I found where your problems is (and it's not exporter bug

). You had both precedence values for glass and water set to 10. As far as i understand, then your water turned into glass because it had the same precedence as glass. Try to use a higher precedence for water.
I used 20 for this image:
I don't know what the right values are though. I only know that 1 = air.

Actually there is - i just added some small things like custom image name and possibility to open the rendered image in max frame buffer (may be useful if someone wants to save into different image format after rendering..or even during the rendering)..and some more small things i don't remember.
Will add the link soon...
