[REQ] Having Sun without Sky
Is there an option to just have the Sun shining without the Sky? You can do this while rendering but I'm concerned that in that case the renderer is still sampling the sky instead of only the sun. I'm thinking in terms of speed: as far as I understand it would be faster if there is only the sunlight as then the renderer would be sampling only that one light instead of that PLUS the sky. Is that so? Thoughts?

Find the 'extra atmospheric' box and tick that, If I remember correctly that should disable sky.

You can asign the sun and sky to different light layers, then turn off the sky layer.

Yes, but the renderer still wastes time sampling the sky then, eh? I've got a scene with a bunch of fog that I don't want the sky for, but it's real slow and I want to optimize it as much as possible.OnoSendai wrote:You can asign the sun and sky to different light layers, then turn off the sky layer.
One trick I found was to put an exit portal over the part of my model so that, were the Sun to shine through it, it would light up my whole model. That prevents Indigo from sampling the rest of the sky/sun.
