Re: Can't get light bulb to work
Did you apply the emitter material to the bulb itself?
The problem seems to be if you want a clear bulb and lit filament.

Transparent but frosted? not clear glass.
Works well though if you are after a opalescent bulb - personally I like it - may use it myself
Left pane of glass with your material - right pane with clear glass.

I quess it's the quadruple pass through glass with bidir that's messing things up. I also rendered a very small sample up to like 20 000 spp with those on and it eventually did clear up...

Re: Can't get light bulb to work
Everything you guys say makes a lot of sense but I still don't get it:
Even though the model is not a 100% perfect (modifiers not applied, too big, glass to thick...) this SHOULD work!
I assigned other materials (one of the famous schott db without cauchy b to be precise) and it works actually (just need higher ev adjust and a little higher iso). So it seems to be a material problem that I don't get.
First picture is everything untouched, exept the glass material.
Second picture is with inner faces of the glass removed and ghost glass mat applied.

Re: Can't get light bulb to work
I made two more tests and I think the answer is: Your glass ist just way too thick. If you just remove the inner faces of the bulb, your material works fine
Or just scale everything to real-world-size.

Re: Can't get light bulb to work
I know it's less accurate but it looks better to me if I delete the glass around the filament but leave the bulb - clears up faster.
