User interface updates and progress

Post by fused » Fri Jun 04, 2010 11:40 pm

Hello,

I've been working on the user interface recently and changed quite a bit.

- New icons by Godzilla (sexy  ) and toolbar reorganized
- The zoom overlay has been removed and replaced by a zoom slider and combo box
- The progress bar overlay has been removed and replaced by a progress bar on the bottom. When scene building is done it displays the time to the next image update
- I added a "render mode" option for easy tweaking without having to go back to the exporter (or editing the scene file)
(- Minor change: "Resolution" tab was renamed to "Render Settings")

If you have any wishes for UI changes and fixes, now is the time to tell me :)

- Allow the "render mode" to change without reloading the scene.
- Get rid of that horrific drop down menu and implement something like the "light layers" system.
- Give "white balance" and "tonemapping" some sliders

Hey pixie!

Thats unfortunately not possible currently. (But i'd like to see it, too :) )

Something like this is planned, we will also expose more settings for easy tweaking.

Good one! Will do :)

This last incarnation doesn't add much since they are very few options to begin with, perhaps if aperture and white balance were added in a common ground instead of having a place of their own for so few options added

UI Updates look great...

Would you mind changing the ratios in the zoom drop down to percents? it would be much more intuitive in my opinion. Also, could you add a 'fit to view' option wherein the larger dimension of the render would fit exactly (With a 5px border, or so) into the view port? This way we would be able to see the entire render more easily. :)

PS. Any updates on the dark version?
