Good free .exr skies?

Does anyone have some good quality exr skymaps with clouds etc that we host on the Indigo site?

Well I doubt the sites that the skies are originally from would like you guys hosting them.

tbh i think its easy enough to find them on the forums. I think we should focus on gathering these useful links and making a big sticky with them in it.


Unfortunately it seems the free evermotion HDRI sky pack has disappeared from the website

Anyway I'm sure if we conjure up the knowledge of indigo users we can come up with an interesting/large list of useful links.

I can contact owners to see if we can agree to distribute them for Indigo users too.

I'm not sure if you should really invest moneay in such props like textures or objects.

For sure it could be nice to have some kind of basic equipment, a basic set of textures.
But have in mind that all costumers of Indigo using a commercial 3d software already do own such a basic library coming with their host application.
And blender guys know to help themselfes with that.

So I would suggest to talk about some companies like Evermotion for distributing or presenting their products on your site...
but I wouldn't invest a penny into that. Not now. Not yet.

I'm not sure it will help a lot cause to put an .exr as environment map would suck big time.
It will be streched blah, blahh ... might be nice for lighting, but come on. Use another HDRI
or better the good Indigo physically based sky. And if really needed add clouds and stuff
in post.

Does anyone know sites with free textures you can use for Indigo materials? Most textures are copyrighted and may only be used for private purposes. On CG-Textures, there are good textures. I'm not sure if I can change this and offer? I have no desire to infringe copyrights. On the mxm side there are also good textures. I may use it for indigo? I have already read through the license terms, but have not found. Can someone help me ?

@Camox: try this site. True, that most of textures from the given site you have to edit, make seamless, make scalar maps. But it's free it's possible to find good resolution.

Could it be concealed into a section linking for external ressources, sitting nearby the database section ?

That way both ends are respected (sites would be visited). It may also dynamise the relationship with such sites. More visitors for them coming from indigorenderer has a value perhaps.

@zeitmzister: yes but beginners ? We do not plan on leaving them alone I hope Btw I already quite seconded you about reinforced inter-sites partnership.

I think that is right, Zeitmeister. You should only invest in other things. Hdri `s found enough free on the net. And with free textures can also create good materials. It would be nice if you have a small collection of links with royalty-free textures.
