ARGH! Emitter Problem

Post by Anthony » Fri May 18, 2007 6:51 pm

My emitter is comin up kindof blackish. Well you can't see it but it's as if theres some kind of void in the SSS material cause it is slightly darker
Tis inside the SSS material. Should this be happening?
How do I fix it?

If the strength of the emitter is too small versus the majority lit scene, that will appear to happen.

Increase the watt value of that emitter, or reduce the strength of the other emitters/background/physical sky in the scene.

or if you don't use watt, increase the gain.

...and if you effectively use sun/sky, give the gain a million or so, or tens of thousands, dunno exactly.

Just think of the difference between a bulb and a star, energy wise, even at a distance like our Sun is, and even as close as the meshlight is from the objects in your scene... the energy ratio is still HUGE !
