tonemapping settings and colour reproduction tests

Post by OnoSendai » Tue Apr 17, 2007 1:58 am

Was messing round with my colour_test.igs scene, and noticed
the default Indigo tonemapping values are not really optimal.

As you can see, cranking up the prescale to 6 really helps,
whereas increasing the burn value avoids burnt out areas.

These results may not hold across all scenes, but I still think they are interesting.

I hope Ms DarkBecky doesn't mind I used her image

I'm telling that for months :P

Usually I use 8-1-8 as a starting point, I guess LCD users will stick with lower values as you said ;)

no, I don't guess so...
I guess, Zuegs (and I think, Wedge, too), changed the value as they thought, it will be more reasonable.
Ísn't too bad with 6 burn ;)
Much better than 3 :D
