The priceline is scalable at least, and you have that free credit offer running until November 23rd (first link I posted).

Hey, any question about the Ranch ? Ask here, RenderFred knows :)

See one of ZomB's tribute and please aknowledge that the Ranch got even more powerful since then !

Same page, a few posts below, there's such a 15mn render for a "simple interior" type of scene.

Also don't miss the PDF guides on the left margin of the linked Ranch page.

So you want a portable laptop to render stuff if you are "somewhere" and after work your computer stays in the office?

I would suggest then to have some render monster in the office that get started before you go home, and you'll have a bunch of finished images returning next morning to the office.

The Ranch is great for rendering, I did Indigo beta test that thing and it was AMAZING <3
Only thing that is not optimally solved is that the merging of IGIs takes time that costs too...
I think the Indigo team still needs to "optimize" that situation further.
But if your final images have not many Light Layers or skyhigh SuperSampling values and super mega high resolution it should be more then fine!

There is a FREE 50€/65$ trial for rendering on the Ranch, give it a try and fall in love!

Also if you still have no license for Indigo, there is a sale atm,
where you save 33% of Indigo price and get 200€ free Ranch credits!!!!11!!!

The laptop is for my personal projects so i don't have too much problems with indigo rendering times ( as long as they don't take more than 5-6 hrs with a 1600 x 1200 resolution ..that is what i'm looking for ....if possible :) ) and i also want to implement indigo in the firm i work for, my boss is demanding soo much more realism and quality ...Actually ( at office) i use two i7, 16 gb ram and a nvidia quadro video card each...i've made a couple of very simple test with this pc's but is not enough to keep the same productivity as Artlantis so that's why i'm looking out for machine options that give me the artlantis productivity and indigo's quality...so far the ranch it's the best option.

I can not use the office computers for my personal projects ..that is the main reason of looking out for a laptop. I would be able to take it with me everywhere and let it render and check if everything is ok while i stay at office or somewhere else..many times with different render softwares i let the desktop rendering while i'm out of home and once i get back there is a crash or problem so that turns into a waste of time.
