Glass need a medium, even if it doesn't use subsurface scattering. If you need more comments, just ask :)

Code: Select all

<medium>
		<name>someGlassMed</name>
	<basic>
      <ior>1.4</ior>
		<cauchy_b_coeff>0</cauchy_b_coeff>
		<absorption_coefficient_spectrum>
			<rgb>
				<rgb>1 1 1</rgb><!--whatever suits your needs-->
			</rgb>
		</absorption_coefficient_spectrum>
	</basic>
	<precedence>5</precedence>
</medium>

<material>
		<name>someGlass</name>
	<specular>
		<transparent>true</transparent>
      <internal_medium_name>someGlassMed</internal_medium_name>
	</specular>
</material>

Thanks a lot CTZn! :D Finally it's working!!!! And the glass color is changed in the absorption values?

This new medium thing is what complicated the story when exporting from blender, right? I still don't get it pretty well, but I"m creating basic examples of each material I may need. Glass was a tough one, many thanks for your help.

Alvaro

I'm extremely happy with the result. :D Thanks again CTZn!

btw. Is there a thread where we can post these codes for each of the materials? If not, I'm creating it and pasting your glass and the phong I got so that others can look into it and use the materials.

Hi Yaroslav !

Well, I'm not using Blender yet, but could you please explain again what's putting you into trouble ? Maybe we could help in some other way...

Afecelis, glad I helped. Such thread would be welcome I guess, until we got a proper wiki !

Cheers !

Bla didnt read the post.

CTZn I thought higher absobtion value meant more absobtion? Wouldnt 1 1 1 in glass be "pretty" dark? :)

Ok! I have problem with glass (and sss) material.
In 0.6 version of indigo and exporter I haven't any problems.
But when I try to render any scene with glass, or my "Glass Material Previw" scene in 0.7 I get Error message.
Thats because I vonna see some material editor screenshots with correct glass and sss materials made directly in blender - without *.xml editing.
Look at correct glass material (indigo 0.6 and some of 0.6 exporter)
And error screen...
Can anybody post *.blend file with half-transp-cloth and glass material? Please!

YaroslavL: you need a more recent 0.7 test.

I know, that this doesn't really matter, but: why don't You use an ico-sphere?
It's shape is much more perfect and has less amount of polys.
Another thing is, that if you use icospheres, and name them "Costumname".sphere, it will be exported as sphere primitive, which renders a lot faster and gives a perfect shape.
