The Good

The premium cars are gorgeous
Online play with up to 16 players
Dynamic weather, day-into-night racing
The Nurburgring Nordschleife is great

The Bad

800 cars just copied over from previous games
Clunky interface
Collisions still aren't right
AI still not good enough
In a game that's about cars, making the majority of them lower-quality models without interiors is ridiculous
The shadows look terrible

The Ugly

The way damage is rendered on standard cars
Getting knocked out of the Top Gear challenge for the seventh time
You'll often ask yourself what the hell they've been doing for six years

Verdict: Rent
benn hired a mercenary to kill my sig...

I feared that might be the case. A few sexy shots and a gimmick camera mode a game does not make.

From a solo run I did tonight online in my lounge with Jegato spectating :)
LFA on Nurburgring with changing time/weather. Did it as a race, saved the replay which allowed me to photo mode it

The lighting engine on Nurburgring is very impressive considering it's dynamic, and you can change the rate of time change. The atmosphere conditions change as well, clouds move, it gets foggy, rainy, sunny etc

Here, I made a video of the LFA replay and photos
Excuse my driving, I was just testing out the dynamic time and weather system :)

The angry angel sings at the Ring! Dynamic lighting and atmosphere looks so realistic
I find it rather meditative, just watching and hearing it go around :)

I feel for the virtual guy who has to look after the lawn next to the track :)

In other news, I just started playing GT5 today and I love it!

Here is a video I did of the Mclaren F1 - cost me a cool 1 Million credits, and it's quite hard to drive on the stock tyres

Adding the wings helped, and grippier tyres

One thing GT5 needs is some non-linear tone mapping like Reinhart... :)

The sky is always burn out and you can't see the shadowed areas very well inside the car
