I still get stuck using it every now and then and it never ceases to amaze me just how outdated and stuck in the past it is. I mean, take the text tool for examples
The text tool is fairly common and most modelling packages give you a simple photoshop style list of fonts to choose from, with a previews of each to help you make more informed decisions. Not wings. You have manually browse for the font file. Can you say 1995? Most packages
also allow you to adjust the font properties interactively, in real time (kerning, spacing, etc.) Not wings. If you make one mistake, because of the linear workflow, you have to hit undo and try it again. That's what bugs me alot about Wings workflow, it's undo-button based. You make a mistake, whoops, undo and try it again. Other modelling apps have tool options that allow you to choose how the tools effects are applied.
As if this couldn't get any more unbelievable, previous iterations made you manually type the path to the font file. Oh god, it's true. We do live in 1995.
Wings 3D is also quite possibly the slowest modeller in existence. Noticeable slowdowns occur after 10,000. Polies. I mean, what can you do with that many? A few objects?
