Known bugs/Issues page

Post by OnoSendai » Sun Oct 08, 2006 12:02 am

There is now a page up in Drupal for known bugs / Issues.

Before posting a bug report, please have a quick look to see if the bug is already in the list.

hello nick,
Welcome you come back, we need you :D

* RGB colours used in the diffuse and phong materials are not reverse gamma corrected, so the results are probably not those expected.

This problem, you will at resolve it when, is not so easy maybe, but we need to amend it very much

codewise, it's very easy to solve.
I just want to be sure I'm doing the right thing if I do decide to do reverse gamma correction in the code.
for example, right now it's kind of nice that when you set rgb = (0.5, 0.5, 0.5) on a diffuse material, you know that it's reflecting 50% of the light.
This simple relationship would be lost with reverse gamma correction.

One possibility would be to have an exponent element in the xml, like

<rgb>
<rgb>0.5 0.5 0.5</rgb>
<exponent>2.2</exponent>
</rgb>
or something like that

Yes, I think so, although it looks like use of linear tonemapping is making the image a little burnt out in that render as well.
