Yoda

Post by Isigrim » Tue Mar 27, 2007 9:03 pm

Hi all,
here is my finished yoda.
comments and critics are welcome.
the model and setup was done in blender, exported with blender2indigo exporter and rendered in indigo0.7 test5.
the skin is a bit too greyish, but i wanted to post it without any further work done on it. as soon as textures and bumpmaps work with sss i will work on a new version, and then i will probably model the whole body, but not at the moment.

thanks goes to stuart freeborn and george lucas for the "inspiration".

What parts of the face are bumped and what parts modelled?

What do you think about modelling all of it (even if only via displaycement-modifier with the bump-map in blender) and then using sss...

thanks for the replies.

@mrCarnivore: there is no bumpmap, since bumpmapping doesn´t work with glossy transparent( some bug with uv map i think, not too sure though).
the material is already a sss material, you can look at the work in progress thread.
i have a version with more detail modelled, yet i can´t export it (too many polys). i will do a higher level of detail once indigo supports bumpmapping and textures for sss.

It really looks so great!
But why didn't you stay to the nice background?
It was great too ;)

@Ono: any way to get even more detailed meshes into indigo, besides the problem of own RAM-limits?
