Hey Everybody,
I'm having a huge problem which doesn't allow me to render my work. Indigo refuses to render anything but the most basic sketchup models, giving me the "memory allocation failed when initializing indigo" error. I have tried everything from the FAQ but nothing seems to work. I have 4GB of ram and cannot understand how it can get used up so fast. Can somebody please help me.
Thanks.
Memory Allocation Error
Re: Memory Allocation Error
Indigo actually isn't a RAM hungry Monster, but there are situations where you can push RAM usage VERY high:
- Using high SuperSampling raises the RAM usage for holding the IGI in Memory by 2 for each step
- Using lightLayres raises the RAM usage for each Layer by +100%
- PostPro Aperture Diffraction raises RAM usage by 75% to 200% or more
So doing some math here:
A completely empty scene with 1024x768 takes around 80MB.
Raising SuperSampling to 4 having 3 Layers results in 80 x 8 x 3 = 1920MB
Enabling PostPro Aperture Diffraction will now simply kill your 4GB Computer...
Disable PostPro Aperture Diffraction, lower SuperSampling to 2 and take care of your Layer count is the message here!
