hello all,
I test for 1 month or Indigo, the results are very promising.
Before buying it I have several questions:
- What version of Indigo is delivered (2.4 - 2.6.1 ...)
- I thought I saw Indigo came with 2 licenses slaves ... what a slave license?
-What is the difference between licenses and licenses slaves nodes
- Did your need licenses for rendering nodes in a network or is that it can operate under licenses slaves.
Thank you in advance

Re: Slave or Node
Someone from Glare can correct me if I'm wrong...
- As far as I know, you get the whole 2.x series. So if there's an update from 2.4 to 2.6, or to 2.7, etc. it's included.
- A slave license is for networked computers that will help out your rendering. They can't run a different rendering, they have to be in slave mode, working on the same renderin and sending samples to your master computer (the one with the 'normal' license).
- Your slave licenses are so that you can run nodes in a network (so if you have 2 node licenses, you can have 2 networked computers running Indigo slaves).

Re: Slave or Node
Thank you very much for your reply.
I still have a little trouble understanding the licensing slaves can not settle on computers in local networks? Is what I can use a license on a slave computer (internet) without having to use a license node.
Besides, I do not understand quite what a node license.
Sorry for my questions may seem basic.

Re: Slave or Node
Its easier then you may think!
buying Indigo you get 1 Master license and 2 slave license.
Master license is the main Machine that can render without watermarks and no restrictions, no mater how much CPUs etc are build in.
A slave license is a license to activate for another 2 computers to help rendering your main computer!
To help rendering the other computers need a LAN connection to the Master Computer
(a connection via Internet is also possible but very slow regarding the massive files to transfer!)
using the demo version of Indigo you can connect as many slaves as you like to a (non registered) Master Computer.
Only thing you need to take care of is to keep Resolution down to 0.75MegaPixel
Nobody ever told this!!1!SCHMUMS wrote:I still have a little trouble understanding the licensing slaves can not settle on computers in local networks?

Re: Slave or Node
Thank you much! It is now clearer.
Last issue of licenses slaves are used to assist the main engine for rendering, what are the licensing nodes?

Re: Slave or Node
a node is the short-form of slavenode, simply your slave computer.
BTW: There is some Floating License System in development by Glare: http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/vie ... &view=next
This method centralizes the whole license-Key management to the Master.
Master hast for example 2 slave keys "registered",
so the first two computers that connect as slaves can help rendering.
This is great if you have a lot of Computers available, but only a few slave licenses
(like company LAN)
Such floating license system is also used by Cinema 4D for example!
I don't know if this Floating license is a license "upgrade" or whatever, ask for it if interested before purchasing to clear this out

Thank you Zom-B
I actually know the principle used for C4D, I am a user for some years. I had recourse several times to render Net and floating licenses.
Indigo I'll find out if this is the case
