as i saw indigo 4.0 is up to come.
and i am really fan of unbiased-rendering using gpu.
at the moment i have max 550euros in my wallet.
can somebody help me out which gpu to choose?
as i read - gtx 980 ("most" advanced cuda ever) have less cudas than 780ti.
i can get 980 for 530euros, and 780ti for 550euros. which one to choose for best rendering expierance?
i am not looking for the most VRAM, as i only want to render small items and closeups mainly.
there are several topics on this, i know, but this is very specific, as i read - gtx 980 is poor when it comes to gpu rendering, compairing with gtx 780 or ti version. maxwell is pretty new, can i expect some major, huge driver updates for using full potential of 980?

Hi, and welcome to the forums. Read this topic:

"...for Indigo (very complex path tracing kernel) NVIDIA's new Maxwell architecture is really impressive.
I'm borrowing a GeForce GTX 980 from a friend at the moment, and it's amazingly fast. Our own GeForce GTX 750 Ti (first generation Maxwell) performs like a high end GPU, despite being only 100 Euros or so."
I think you're fine with any card from the 700 or 900 series.

Re: GPU for Indigo 4.0
I thought the 900 series was suppose to be a much better compute card than all previous offerings from nVidia. Also since the GPU beta isn't available yet, probably a good idea to wait for AMD's new lineup to see how they perform and prices are bound to falls on nVidia at that point.
