Wondered if it's possible for quite a while already.
Would it be possible to set a save/update interval of let's say 5 seconds without Indigo overwriting the previous update but create a new image for each save of the same scene?
Obviously this would serve only an educational and fun purpose of recording a timelapse to see how problematic areas like transparencies or shadows develop over time and how many samples are needed.
I understand that this would not work as benchmark.
Alternatively a force update in the render viewer would work as well so one could simply screen grab the whole process, although it would only allow renders in screen resolution.
Setting unique save interval and file name (timelapse)
Re: Setting unique save interval and file name (timelapse)
Afaik it isn't possible to do so directly in Indigo.
But I would suggest it would work with something like a "backup software/tool"
that backups data in a certain time interval, or directly after file creation.
Using such a software, you simply set your Indigo save interval to lets say 2 minutes, and tell that tool to create a new backup of the file/folder each 2 minutes.
You can find a bazillion off small tools and free software over at http://www.softpedia.com/
Maybe you get lucky

Nice workaround! Haven't thought of that : P
Will give it a try later this evening or tomorrow.

There has been a similar request yeeaaars ago, I think it was me fascinated by the MLT process
Also, you can force Indigo to cease rendering after a given sample per pixel count, as a float (ie: it can be below 1.0) and go on with resuming. It's rather tedious though but this could be batched I assume.
