Water vapour in atmosphere.

Post by yonosoy » Thu Apr 04, 2024 8:59 am

Work in progress about mie cumulus and singular clouds in atmosphere. A middle entertainment. Is planed to hang the houdini files for clouds, some cinema setups materials, ...

-Indigo camera, 24 mm.
-Extra atmospheric Sun.
-Atmosphere.
-Earth (conceptual, no elevation, color maps, ...).
-Mie cumulus clouds.
-Path tracing.
-SS 8.

In this case the "border intensity" parameter is set to 1.0 (hard borders). The code affect to all the clouds. The code is position dependent. Will see some examples and the evolution of this possibilities.

90º zenith.
1000 spp in 3 hours.

If you are able to develop the code succesfully, hang it here please.
Also hang your clouds images here if you want.

AN IMPORTANT ADVISE:
If you rectify the clouds medium inside indigo, the medium change from mie_cumulus to uniform.
Set up like uniform and when you reach a good result save the scene, change the medium with notepad and relaunch it.
Good luck!

2:30 hours. The cam is at 20000 meters of high, you are seeing the earth as background...
The steles are placed in an extremely high altitude for a "real take". The steles material has uniform phase function (as the gases maybe are not water vapour yet...) Observe the difference.
Zenith 85º.

Border intesity parameter of the code material for clouds set to 0.01.

If you clamp the contributions you get a perfect image in a decent time, but you loose ilumination details in the clouds.
The noise seems less agressive than usual...

It seems like heavy clouds are falling from the sky beyond the barbed wire...
