Material implementation database

This post is adressed to Whaat 'cause he's the Skindigo developper but he might not spend all his time to satisfy all of our will & wish. So any one who could give me elements will be welcome. The integration of a material preset in the skindigo interface is very usefull. Does it exist a simple way to implement home made material presets into your plugin ? Certainly it does, but I'm a poor programmer and can't use ruby ( shame on me 'cause everybody told me it'easy to understand). Could you post a simple kind of tutorial or something looking like to make from us real "Skindigo material presets contributors" ?

You have a few options. If you want to add more presets to the plugin, you could modify the code. I would not recommend doing this but anyone who has some experience in Ruby should be able to figure out how to add their own presets. However, a better option would be to make a formal request for certain presets (you can use this forum topic if you want) and if there is enough interest, I will put them in the next version.
Since I want to keep the list of presets to a reasonably small number, I suggest that you start saving your good materials as IGM files and then loading them instead of trying to add more presets. The presets are intended for new users who don't know what settings to use for common materials.
Giving the user the ability to add their own presets just by using the SkIndigo interface is not an easy task and is not really necessary given the ability to save materials as IGM files. I hope I can add support for loading and saving 'Blend' materials soon but I'm not working on it right now....

Yeees,
One more noob misstake ! I ignored the IGM saving file line into the material preset list  . That's exactly what I need to compose a personnal mat. library. Lots of thanks Whatt ; very instructive and usefull.

Regards
