thats one of the things I'm not very good at...
ok ok... sorry for pushing you, take all the time you need!

but to keep my promise, here the bugs new I found in 0.2.5b:

14) Bump Exponent & Size doesn't get exported after changing in C4D, it stays at default values!

15) texture/bump export needs uv_set to be albedo for 3DS Export, otherwise indigo throws out a error message!

16) Mesh gets Exported even if its unchecked in the Object tag! >example file<

17) Bump Size is clamped to 1/1000 isn't very handy!

Hey fused,

I don´t mean to put any pressure on you, but about half an hour ago I posted over at cgsociety.org about the exporter and its progress, and lo and behold, since then we have a download-increase of about 20% :)

Keep on the good work !!!

But lucky us, there is one heroic individual named "fused" over at the indigo forum who took the task to tackle this topic and he kind of reinvented the wheel

too much... i cant take it... :P

and to everyone whos looking for a mac-version of the exporter: next release will include a mac-version (if anyone needs a ppc comile, dont be shy just say something!)

Btw, any chance of having an automated start feature in a similar fashion to what BL had done ? Although I don´t have a problem starting Indigo by hand, I kind of liked the look and feel of an alternative renderer inside C4D.

Michael

P.S.: I´ll just cut back on thanking you in future threads, since I think I did my share of praising, at least until you come up with something really really incredible like seamless export of procedural textures from c4d to indigo ;)

i dont really think i'll imlement procedural export, but baking them works really great (as you can see above :) )

edit: are you some kind of Cindigo promoter now? :P

Well, duh about the procedurals. Any chance that you provide us with a short tutorial on how you did the Baking ? Seriously, not for the Advanced users but all those Beginners. Like me. Damn, hard to confess. But now I am out in the open with that. Phew. Now I only have to tell the parents... ;)

And about that promoting thing, well it worked, a boost of 200 % of total downloads, with about 70% of the total downloads done in only a fraction of the time the initial downloads have happened :D. I wish I´d get a share of the monies that you don´t make by putting the exporter out for free. Would at least buy a beer or two, which would be quite handy with the weather going crazy over here (man, its 30°C near Cologne !)

Michael

P.S.: I am wondering whether the heat that those pesky numbercrunchers produce could be used for cooling somehow, so Indigo would also contribute to saving our environment ? :\

Yeah, but I think the energy efficiency balance is kind of off with a heat pump like that ;)
