2 - will work if your "scenefilepath" in the inifile point to your scene
I tried 2 without the correct "scenefilepath" and the results are intresting
Everyone else is doing it so : Core 2 duo E6600, 2 gb ram, Nvidia 8800 640 GTS and 250 gb hd

hey ono, does your new epidermis system take into acount other layers other than the very top layers of skin such as bloody dermis and blood layers?

jensens paper might be just an addition to his old papers, not a replacement, and meant to be used along side his previous papers- thus many renders coming out odd (even those i have done with epidermis system and normal specular transparency).

It's an extension of his multipole SSS technique papers, that's true.

Strange resume behaviour

Post by GustavTheMushroom » Tue Feb 27, 2007 9:05 pm

Hey guys.
Stopped a render and resumed it and its behaving rather strangely...

Before Stop:

After Resume:

See the checker starts overlapping or something?

EDIT: Now that IS rather odd. I modified the phong_test.xml file for this...and the original is starting come through?!?

Are you running the resume command like this?:

indigo.exe somexmlfile.xml -r renders/someigi.igi

If not how?

If you don't specify what file to use it will grab it from the inifile, which is set by standard to phong_test.xml

I've been using:

indigo.exe -r renders/someigi.igi somexmlfile.xml,

Code: Select all

C:\Progs\3d\indigo\indigo_07_test5\indigo.exe -r C:\Progs\3d\indigo\indigo_07_test5\renders\im1172551301.igi C:\work\3d\test\renderData\3dnoiz00_Indigo.xml
to be precise, is that ok ? I'm always using fuulpath... I'm asking because my first try was wrong, no pixels were changed after a few hours... but now it works I think.

BTW Ono I have an idea for some days now, I think the principle works already but I've got to do some more tests; that's the kind off stuff you may know how to optimize (if the whole thing makes sense). Basically it's about [...censored...] without sacrifying any actual accuracy as it's built in yet. I'll pm you after my tests because if the idea is good I want it for you ;)

Thank you for Indigo !

The idea was not good I guess :?

Did you get my point with the pm Ono ?

Sorry every one, that's just that when you find something that looks new, you want to ask to someone that knows what the jazz is about before telling.

Basically I'm asking Ono if he had considered some way to optimize renders done in an assigned amount of time, and I'm giving some of my insights, things he knows already I'm sure. I'm just waiting for a word from the big boss, because all the bricks for that optimisation are built in Indigo already, it's just about putting some things together. I've tested that manually already but would like to know what Ono thinks about that all.

That's why I have written a pm, and now I'm dying for a word :)

Hugh !

Ono is like a ninja... silent, until he strikes deadly! (with all the nice test versions :D )
