Some issues I have found with Indigo 1.1.7:

- I am getting tons of 'unexpected element' errors that contradict what is written in the manual. For example, unexpected <texture> in <phong>. unexpected <displacement> in <blend>...the list goes on. I am guessing that Ono is probably aware of these issues already.

- I have also found a strange issue with subdivision. In the attached images, the checker material on the left and right walls is the same and they are part of the same mesh. Clearly, the one on the right has been properly subdivided and displaced, while the one on the left as not been subdivided but has been displaced.

I thought this was maybe because the mesh was not continuous. However, as you can see from the one image, the displaced rock is not continous and there are no problems.

Subdivision curvature threshold is set to -1 for both meshes, and pixel threshold is set to 4.0 for both.

Indeed there seem to be a few issues which is why I have stopped trying to update and test my exporter variant until 1.18 arrives.
I simply cant be bothered stuffing around with it and playing guessing games as to what is working and not.
Just as well I am the only user because people might get upset with not having scripts to play with for versions 1.1.6 and 1.17 otherwise

As another matter I have asked ono several times for an example of code showing all the various index variations working and referencing where they should - still waiting for that...

@lyc
I dont know why I tell you really since this is for ono and only he knows about what he made and why...I am sure he gets around to it eventually

aside from this another issue @ono - the new UI interface reinhard burn defaults to 6. I thought the default was 10 some time ago? I have this in the exporter a long time and therefore things are relatively over exposed in respect of sliders

btw, a trip down memory lane:

you seem to have a good, maybe expert, technical understanding of these things and type of renderers...
I wonder if you would consider answering some of the complex questions we get on the forums sometimes in ono's absence? your choice of course and I hope it would be ok with ono for me to enquire about this...
a few of us were talking about this small matter of ono not being especially good at talking :?

ok the peasants gather for a giggle about the selective information
Here is a copy of the pm I sent lyc in reply to his just to keep things above board. Im not going to carry this nonsense on with lyc. Hopefully ono gets around to giving me the code sample I asked for some time.
cheers all
Look pal, the last time I asked you to answer questions for people you said you didnt want to and it was his project
Fine ok now show up here in the thread out of nowhere after a long silence and assume to enquire about a matter that wasnt directed at you? Why?
And now you are upset I defer to ono..
Silly stuff, and I dont need private mail about it
And honestly I am not interested in the small things you know about ono or how long you think you know him either.
Have a good day
