Re: Latest Interior

Stunning test render - this is going to look fantastic with more furniture and nick-nacks...

Overall, I like it! But I echo what others have noted/suggested here. I would like to add that a simple balcony/railing outside the window would really do this scene justice, as it looks like the room is up in the air anyway.

What crojack said. I dont think it should even be floating at all. I would make the ice much bigger, deform them so that they don't all look the same, and arrange them pile up from the bottom of the glass with the top ones sticking out of the liquid a bit.

Onfame I know you said you tried several HDRIs, but from what I can see in your posted pic, is a very black environment with the light source coming from the top. I would guess that the black in the ice is just your environment being reflected on the ice. I don't remember having any issues with the...

Extremely nice! If you lop off her head, it would look real. The body is totally convincing.

I will re-import the .fbx (love this format for getting models into Maya from other sources). I will let you know. Wow, lights sure do shine much brighter in 1.1.15! Will have to tone down the lighting...

I guess it is not so serious - the model is exported from MoI as n-gons, so that may be causing the strangeness. I can try re-importing the .fbx it created and see... Just no time, as I am busy with so many other things

Thanks for looking into it, though

In a moment of brilliance, I did try exporting the scene to OBJ and the re-importing. It gave the same odd results.

I guess my whole point is that something seems not to be right in the script. Maya and everything else sees the object as they are supposed to. Only MtI sees it wrong. I wish I had programming skills to help out, but unfortunately, all I can do is report the problem.

CTZn There are three groupings to the lamp, based on swivel points where the lamp is jointed: Group 1 = lamp head Group 2 = lamp middle armature Group 3 = lamp base And then there is a whole lamp group, so there are four groups total. (Hope that makes sense to you). Freeze transformations was used,...

Sorted out all errors so that the render now starts (went in simple baby steps and deleted all mats). But when the render starts, geometry is not in the correct locations - please see posted examples. Sorry for the poor lighting in the Indigo version - was just trying to get output. The actual model...
