actually what distracts most is the left hand ..... i would change the angle where the hand meats the wrist and make it more like you did it with the right hand and just give a bit curve to the left hand pointing finger and middle finger ........ Anyway, playing with cuffs generates some stress and ...

This is one of the biggest difference i can see between Freeware or open source software and Commercial one anybody here post a scene where you can see a mistake or a bug of any free ware render and the developer are thankful that you spot it out ..... doing the same with a commercial render and you...

What I don't get is why the Maxwell and Fryrender plastic materials appear to render slower in the above tests. You would think that they would render faster IF they are indeed neflecting the Fresnel effect. the thing is that they are rendering the Fresnel effect but with a 20% contribution only ( ...

 sounds arbitrary, specular should be prevalent if present AFAIK ! Hi CTZn you are absolutely right that this is arbitrary and should have made people think already ( and also the unusual high IOR ( nd ) values used by Maxwell and Fry ...... normally around 3.00 is the lowers they use ) the ...

Hi CTZn Of cause it is good that you make the "the lawyer of the devil" part here  I don't know if you have read my "Kerkythea Material Editor Guide" where i explain why the "traditional" layers system don't work correct with Fresnel Reflection ( without mentioning Maxwell of cause but those th...

Hi CoolColJ thank you very much for this comparison render :D and finally my suspicions seem to be right and Fry and Maxwell don't do Fresnel reflection accurate ....... i am not saying that Fry or Maxwell don't have Fresnel reflection ..... what i am saying is that their Material Editors don't allo...

Hi CoolColJ regarding the comparison render ..... i think that a basic shine plastic material on a cube should not take that long ( no bump map) . The thing is that "Fresnel reflection " is more visible on a cube like object then on a sphere ( having the camera placed in a way that you can see diffe...

Just an SSS test, I still don't understrand Fry's SSS, so not really that similar but speeds are closer with lights. I like the lack of MLT artifact spots in Fry though. Fry does seem faster outdoors though... If you look closer you can see I Aero-Noised the cube, to clean it up earlier :) Hi CoolC...

Hi everybody Caronte is absolutely right .... we see with our brain and not with our eyes . Even today the scientific community don't understand fully all the steps involved in the seeing and recognizing process . It is more a process of reconstruction than actually a projection process like it happ...

Hi again ZomB if i understand right .... you want to have the Fresnel effect when creating your own nk data with this program ... right ? If i understand right you would need to sett a low color intensity in the RGB values and then the program would calculate the nk data with probably also a low IOR...
