Re: The best rendering engine?
Yes: actually, Renderman is a path tracer rendering engine. REYES was deprecated with Renderman 21 release.contegufo wrote:We forgot to Renderman (OSX, Win, Linux).
And don´t forget Cinema 4D own rendering system, it has some special and almost unknown "sauce recipe"

Nice tip, Lycium, I´ll try...lycium wrote: A dirty trick for clean images / firefly suppression is simply to use high supersampling values, like 4-8. It can take a bit longer to reach normal brightness but actually works quite well (and doesn't require any extra GPU memory).

Re: Simple Renderings Thread
Hi, CTZn!
Post-processing needed with this pic was small: a very little amount of fireflies were present, after 2 hours of rendering, only very light Photoshop work was needed. I´m happy with this new Indigo material. Next I wish is a proper hair rendering primitive

A try with fast SSS material in Indigo 4.0.x. About 2 hour rendering in PT.
Hope you like it.

Re: Cinema 4D R16
Well, a more complete answer is: Cindigo converts Cinema R16 materials to a fixed Cindigo material, a phong type with IOR 1 and exponent 100000. Color is converted as well. At least Cindigo outputs a (somewhat raw) converted material, instead of crashing... Otherwise, Cindigo works without a flaw wi...

Re: Luxology modo
Hi. Modo is starting to get some renderers very well integrated in its workflow. Last year Otoy´s Octane came with a very capable plugin, and this year, following the "801 trail effect", VRay 3.0 for Modo is being announced, straight from the Chaos Group itself. Seems that a lot of people, coming fr...

Re: Using a Mac as a master and a Windows PC as a slave
Hi Oscar. I have such a setup, I explain how I set up Indigo. First, the Windows machine acts as the Indigo Network Manager. In every machine of your net you must configure Indigo to use the network manager (no master search broadcast, no use of floating license) in Indigo Preferences->Network. Fill...
