This probably won't help, but I've had an identical error which as been solved by simply lowering the detail of the scene. However it looks like your problem is caused by something else, so that may not fix it.

In reality they're carbon fiber, which is quite dull, but I haven't textured it properly yet.

Update:

Normals were fine, problem was the emitters turned black behind specular glass due to bidirectional being enabled. Problem was initally posted at http://www.indigorenderer.com/joomla/fo ... 2740#62740.
