Re: Indigo v1.1.18 Retro Render
Indigo v1.1.18 was and still is great, and I think it was ahead of its time. I had an issue with the old version and this particular scene. I was getting nasty artifacts on the white mesh objects. It looked like some of the co-planar triangles were showing some type of shadow. I increased the ray_or...

Indigo v1.1.18 Retro Render
I haven't posted here in about 10 years, but lately I've been experimenting with Indigo v1.1.18 (the last free version). It's still has very good quality, but render times are somewhat slow. I did this mostly as a test for the golfball shader. So here's my latest test rendering, which takes about 45...

Violet: IGI vs PNG Tone-Map Bug
I know violet will be obsolete because of the upcoming integrated tone-mapper in the next release, but I think I found a bug. Has anyone noticed that if you open an igi and set the tone-mapping scale factors to the same values in your igs scene file, it doesn't produce the same results as the png ou...

Gamma & Exposure
I just tried out the new Violet beta and it's great. Now am I missing something or is it true that there's no gamma & exposure correction like in HDRshop? Maybe the same corrections can be done through the existing tools, but I don't know how or if it's there.

Moment of Inspiration (“MoI”) is a spline-based modeler -- like a stripped-down version of Rhino.

Please darken this forum's text color
The current color #526C75 doesn't offer too much contrast and makes posts a little hard to read. Can the text color be darkened just a little?

Thanks. I use the default settings for the sun and did not edit the xml at all -- except to increase the phong exponent for the ag.nk shader because the Blender max is 512. <skylight> <sundir>0.866025 -0.000000 0.500000</sundir> <turbidity>2.000000</turbidity> <sky_gain>0.005000</sky_gain> </skyligh...

Pot Party Room
Ooops, I meant TeaPot Party Room. I saw something like this on the Maxwell site (and in Rad's tut) and wanted to try it out myself. I used my own Newell Teapot generator script for Blender, which also makes the spoon, cup, and yoda at any resolution you desire: http://gamma-ray.home.comcast.net/tmp/...
