Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.47 Beta Release

From your log file it seems you have a "phong_nonbasic_8659449695711977334" material. Not sure what that is? It does build the material, but you see that the CL_OUT_OF_RESOURCES message happens just as it's about to optimise the material code for that material. Oren Nayar materials definitely works...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.47 Beta Release

Ok I found the last error.
Light sources were modeled as Sphere objects.

Replacing that with normal objects, the scene is lit.

So to sum it up, what so far it didn't work in my scene:

- phong material with a shader
- Sphere objects as light source

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.47 Beta Release

Ok I made some progress: by removing Oren Nayar material, the CL_OUT_OF_RESOURCES error disappears, and the renderer now apparently generates samples. The problem is the rendered image remains pitch black, it seems the light sources do not work. As light source i use a diffuse material with RGB base...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.47 Beta Release

Hi, if I enable OpenCL - GPU rendering, OpenCL seems to compile the shader programs, but then I get 0 samples per pixel with my scene, while the sample scenes shipped with Indigo seem to render fine. To give you a better picture: Windows 10 64 Bit, nVidia GTX1070 8GB - My Scene - Indigo 3.8 - CPU - ...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.46 Beta Release

@walnist Thanks for the info. Which AMD card do you use? (you didn't listed any) Does it work in unison with the 1070? It was a Radeon R9 280X, and i didn't even try running it in unision with the GTX 1070, i've simply unmounted and replaced the old card with the new one, and apparently residuals f...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.46 Beta Release

So i found the problem. On the same PC I had an AMD Radeon GPU previously installed, and apparently the driver uninstall process left quite some stuff behind, including the AMD opencl dlls being registered. With some painful registry cleaning, i could now get the GTX 1070 working with Indigorenderer...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.46 Beta Release

There is nothing strange with my configuration, it worked fine with Indigo 3.8, this is the system information: Betriebssystem: Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit DirectX-Version: 12.0 GPU-Prozessor: GeForce GTX 1070 Treiberversion: 375.86 Direct3D-API-Version: 12 Direct3D-Funktionsebene: 12_1 CUDA-Kerne: 1920 ...

Re: Indigo Renderer 4.0.46 Beta Release

Hey, just downloaded the Beta 4.0.46, it does not recognize my nVidia GTX 1070 as an OpenCL device - it says "No supported OpenCL devices" in the OpenCL Rendering tab. Is there anything I should do or configure or is this GPU not supported? GPU Rendering was working fine with the stable 3.8.29 versi...

Re: Specular material: reflection and transmision?

Thanks guys! The way i understand it, IOR controls only the angle of refraction (i.e. how much a "lens distortion" effect) the liquid or glass surface has; this however does not control the amount of light which gets reflected vs the amount which gets refracted (that'd be reflectance vs transmission...

Specular material: reflection and transmision?

Hi, i'm trying to model a realistic human eye, using a physiological eye model including lenses, IORs etc. and i'm not using any exporter but generating indigo script files using a python program (the model is parameterized). I'm trying to better understand how the reflective type of materials work,...
