Re: Why dees indigo RT export textures per frame?

Same here, from my experience animating with Indigo is pretty hassle free, except for the rendering time. The "skip writing existing meshes" option is also nifty when it's just the camera that moves, and not the objects. Are you using Sketchup? There's no option like that to skip existing static me...

Re: Why dees indigo RT export textures per frame?

One problem is that Indigo doesn't recognize / export some kind of "static mesh". Plus shared textures. I guess. Personally I am doing car animations, and my scenes (due to very highres 3D-models and textures) are up to 12GB. So I can't export animations; this makes absolutely no sense at the momen...

Re: Why dees indigo RT export textures per frame?

No, not yet. It is being exported temporarly every frame by frame. But this octane-like live preview was promised to have with indigo and cindigo 4. Cheers, zeiti When its exported temporarily, is indigo already rendering the frames? The issue with the Iclone exporter is the export process itself i...

Re: Why dees indigo RT export textures per frame?

Cindigo doesn't export those if you uncheck 'Save .IGI' for quite a while. Otherwise a real bummer though haha. Happened to me once where a longer sequence filled up almost 2tb of hdd space and froze somewhere down the line because ran out of space : D So Cindigo has an option not to save .igi? How...

Re: Why dees indigo RT export textures per frame?

same with cindigo - it is exporting the procedural / color cinema shaders for each frame to one folder. It would make sense if they are animated... Really? Are they identical each frame? How about static mesh? In Iclone the static mesh is still exported per frame which takes some hdd space. They're...

This is cool. We need more animation and variety with indigo.

Re: Indigo animation

I'm using indigo RT so its more limited. But the render time I got for that test is less than 2 min per frame. Much better than what I could get with octane to get rid of noise and avoid dancing pixels. Pretty good engine. But octane has support for a lot of passes, hair, and native integratio...

Re: Indigo animation

Yep its all just mocap mixed together in a couple of minutes. Was testing more how indigo handles motion with small details in the background like those swaying trees. I don't really see much animation with indigo so I wanted to test this before I do more animations with indigo. I'm pretty imp...

Indigo animation

This is a quick test I did with indigo. Indigo doesn't have the renderpasses, hair, and other goodies but so far I like the render engine core. Its more stable than octane imo. Its simple to learn compared to other renderers I'v used. I hope Glare and RL can work out the export better. There's 50000...

Skip first file in render queue

Can't seem to be able to skip or delete the first file in a render queue. Is that a bug?
Every time I resume rendering I want to skip frames that I already rendered but I'm not able to delete this first frame.

Re: Really pure GPU rendering due to slow CPU

How will this affect the RT product? Discontinued? Features updated? Indigo RT will continue to exist, and will (per current plans) have pure GPU rendering as well. However, some of Indigo 4's new features might be full Indigo Renderer version only, in line with our current (roughly speaking) "hobb...

Re: Why dees indigo RT export textures per frame?

This is the exported files from Iclone. I did frame 1950-2020. I had to split the export procedure into sets of frames or else Iclone would crash trying to export 2000 frames in one go. Iclone is exporting the textures per frame as shown. The hdd is easily filled up :D Exporting 100 frames per sessi...

Re: Why dees indigo RT export textures per frame?

I really should test how other exporters work. Does it mean that in sketchup when you hit render there is no exporting to temp files at all and indigo renderer simply reads the absolute paths of the textures in the harddisk? Even for animation? Yes and no :) Textures aren't exporter but only "linke...

Re: Why dees indigo RT export textures per frame?

even that is to much for doing 1001 preview renderings. Texture paths should be directly pointing to where they are taken from in the first place, why should they be copied at all? I really should test how other exporters work. Does it mean that in sketchup when you hit render there is no exporting...
