Sun Sky Settings Help
Hello :) I have been using IR (basic) for some time and using the lights set up in the default test scene but I am trying to aim for a more dramatic light effect. I am trying to create a very simple material display scene using a test ball. Someone kindly created a test scene with a test ball here i...

Re: Clarify Glass Made with Bitmaps don't render?
Hi, for transparency, you need to use a "specular" or "glossy transparent" type material and the apply your bitmap to the "absorption layer" channel. Like in this material: stained_glass.pigm Thank you :) Much appreciated. However, when I try to open it I get this error: Error: Failed to parse mate...

Re: Don't upload copyrighted material, unless you're allowed
hey guys! it's a while since the last reply was added. after i read most of your messages i asked myself: what about the pictures i can find on sites like tiles manufacturers? some of them have hi-res pics as previews of their tiles or furniture or what ever. is it legal to use and upload them (pac...

Fancy Etched Glass.
I have to admit, it's just a variation of the existing etched glass but I made a seamless floral pattern to add as the blend. I don't need or 'do' glass materials so wanted to have a play :) Tried to make the center piece transparent too but too busy so it's a shiny pearl! lol Enjoy http://indigoren...

Re: Clarify Glass Made with Bitmaps don't render?
Hi trutextures, after applying the bitmap to the "Absorption Layer" channel in the specular or glossy transparent material type, open the texture properties (by clicking on the thumbnail or the button next to it) and increase the "Scale (b)" parameter. Higher scale means less light will be absorbed...

Re: Clarify Glass Made with Bitmaps don't render?
Looks like your absorption settings are way too high, can we see your material try? Do you mean the .img file? Once I suss out the transparency part I will upload one to the library as an .pimg file. I was thinking Tiffany Lamps when I made them. :) I am just trying to update my marketing images to...

Clarify Glass Made with Bitmaps don't render?
Hello :D I work 95% with bitmaps and I made some lovely stained glass type textures, diffuse specular and normal maps which render fine in Strata Design 3D xi but for the life of me, all I can get in Indigo RT is a shiny mainly black glossy render (See image) I searched these forums and read that In...

Re: Don't upload copyrighted material, unless you're allowed
in the material description would do it? It won't be enough as you're distributing a zip file aka .pigm which will not include the needed information. This might be the biggest issue. So you have to add the text to the pigm manually and then you should be fine. ;o)) take care psor I have had some e...

Exporting Maps post editing in Indigo?
I work mainly with bitmaps but to achieve the render results they almost always need tweaking in Indigo. When I go to the material editor section there is an "Open Image" which basically opens the texture map in its original state (unedited in Indigo) Is there a way to export the materials as they a...

Re: First Material Uploaded, Pebbles on wet sand/Concrete
regarding displacement I can give you the following advices: For displacement use a negative C value of half of your B! By that you generate a "centered displacement"! In your case every pixel that isn't pure black pushes the mesh outwards. With having the C value negative of half B all pixels that...
