I've run a few tests, with BiDir Path, BiDir MLT and GPU. I used the tip from Headroom about the spec map, though it seems to make a strange effect. Picture says it all :)

For the CPU, depending on your budget (which I assume is high due to the SB-E CPU) I would maybe point my eyes towards Ivy Bridge, Xenon or Opteron. Noticed this as well for AMD HD7950. During pathtracing its a bit limited by the CPU. But the speed gain is really great anyways :)

I'm getting 8-9% core usage from Indigo, and when running LuxMark with CPU+GPU hybrid, I get the same result (10-11%)

It's rather the opposite : the monitors overwhelming the environment (because when layer 0, monitors, in unchecked, the environment appears) I suppose you just set a blackbody for the monitors, while letting the gain to 1, and no emitter scale values. This means the monitors emit like 1 square foot...

First render with Indigo, testing how long Path (gpu) takes to clear up. This is @13h and 29k samples. Hi PigsOnTheWings, and welcome ! You have been using an IES light profile is it ?
