Re: Adding GPU cards to network nodes.
Oh my gosh, that are two sexy nodes you have there! I don't know how the situation is for a dual CPU setup for Hybrid (GPU) rendering, and I also don't know if there is somebody with experience in that! Problem in Hybrid rendering is the bottleneck in CPU <> GPU communication. How that behave havin...

Adding GPU cards to network nodes.
I understand only one card is supported (for now).
Will adding a GPU card to a node work/help? Or just keep the slave CPU only?
Node specs:
CPU: 2 x AMD Opteron 4180 6-Core @ 2.6GHz (12-Cores)
Memory: 8GB (DDR3 1333)
Motherboard: PCI Express 2.0 (ASUS KCMA-D8)
I'm using two nodes (24-Cores)

Upgrading from a version 2.* to 3.2.
Any problems? Or can I just install over the 2.* version?

Upgrade time? Is GPU acceleration mature enough?
Exports to sketchup. Specs for 2 servers: CPU: 4 X AMD Opteron 4180 6-Core 2.6GHz (24cores total) Memory: 8 gig, each system. (DDR3 1333 ECC Unbuffered) (max. UDIMM-32Gig, RDIMM-128Gig@1600) Motherboard: PCI-E Gen. 2 slots (ASUS KCMA-D8) What card should I go with, say 2 to 3 times faster rendering?...

Render Farm.
Going to build a render farm for a friend. Have basic questions and need some info. Dual core or single? Makes much of a difference? I'm guessing indigo can use more that one thread. Does the amount of memory per node make a difference? 64bit is faster, plus use of more memory. How does indigo scale...
