i think u have found the problem, because it is the same, with 3ds or obj file. The problem comes from the number of material. I will make test to identify the maximum number indigo can handle, i know that blender is only 16...perhpase indigo have the same limitation!

thks for the reply, well i can't use texture, as the object is exported from a specific molecular modeling tools. The object export as vertex and face colored according material definition. The mtl file have several material like : newmtl ad0000FF Ka 0.000000 0.000000 1.000000 Kd 0.000000 0.000000 1...

wavefront obj

hi everyone, i am using indigo7test7 with importing mesh in wavefront object file format. The object file contains the vertex point, the face connection and the accroding material, for instance: usemtl ad0000FF f 1 2 3 f 4 2 1 f 5 2 4 f 6 2 5 usemtl ad0808FF f 7 2 6 f 3 2 7 f 8 9 3 f 7 8 3 f 10 8 7 ...

hi, i have find my wavefront object problem. A stupid one. In fact, the sofware which i use to export/create the obj was wrong. Namely the software use the vt fields to save the rgb value of each vertex....I have contacted the developer, and they soon correct their programms to produce mtl material....

I have tried with UVMapper to get a image BMP, but thats doesn't work.
IF you can tell me how to make this transformation, you are welcome.
My idea is to use both vertex painting and indigo material, but i really don't know how to do this.
Did you know other way than UVMapper to do such thing ?

perhaps i could translate .obj format to indigo using the vertex tag like

<vertex pos="-10 -10 0" normal="0 0 1" uv0="0 0" />
but i don't how to color them without a material in the <triangle_set>
tag....

thanks for the information,
thus did you know if there is a simple way to translate in indigo the uv texture color present in the .obj file. I don't want to loose the color scheme of my object.
I know it would be possible using uv image mapping, but it is just vertex painting.

any idea?

hi,

i have a question about obj mesh imported in indigo. My file consist only in vertex (v) and textured vertex (vt). There is no material define. My problem is that indigo ask me for a defined material. How can i handle this within the v0.7test5 ?

thanks in advance

question about v0.7

hi i am currently testing the version 0.7. I got a question about using .3ds or .obj mesh. If i don't define the material with the correct name i got a error message. If i define it, i lose the initial material. The ways i use indigo is by xml editing, using .obj export from molecular modeling tools...
