Re: Indigo Renderer 2.4.10 Released
BiDir fix seems to work nicely for me too!
Thank you a lot Ono!

ZOMG !
1°: I downloaded 2.4.9 10mn ago
2°: I was getting itchy about that bug again, dreaming for polynomes in places of polygones...
I can't believe this. Let's see how quasi-fresnel lenses like the fix) :D
Milestone !?

I hope to see some small bugs fixed before having a "stable" release out:CTZn wrote:Milestone !?

Just some "few" things I found...
Especially the EXR saving always as linear toenmapped is a No-Go regarding Ranch Renderfarm and other professionals!
Re: Indigo Renderer 2.4.10 Released
Agreed Zom-B ! How demanding ;)
I mean, that bugfix is quite an event by itself. The glass below is lowly subdivided (x2). If it was not the issue would be visible again, so the issue was decreased by an order.
Note that the base mesh is very rough, the profile uses 2 vertices for its border (box style). So the issue was strictly narrowed down to limits inherited from polygones, that's great !
I want implicit surfaces :P

Re: Indigo Renderer 2.4.10 Released
Great work!
I created a (very!) simple test scene that exposed the problem. A 20mm cube with a 0.2mm glass plate placed in front of it with 0.2mm distance. The scale of things seemed to play a role.
In BRID modes the edges of the glass were completely dark and the surface behind the glass was also very dark. A scene scaled by factor 10 (200mm cube etc.) had dark edged glass but the area behind the glass was rendered correctly.
Thew same scene again scaled by 10 (2m cube, 20mm glass) did not have any of the problems.
Anyway, my little test scene renders correctly now. Thanks!

Version 2.4.8 works better, than 2.4.10
Here an example the first 4 hours of 42 mines, the second 2.4.10 time of 6 hours.

Re: Indigo Renderer 2.4.10 Released
hey Prof...
It seems you denoised & sharpened your images quite strong, no good resource to do conclusions.
Also the scenes are slightly different :/
Some testrender with the "Render Info Overlay" is always welcome to see the samples count + speed :)
Since in 2.4.10 BiDir is fixed, I can say that regarding my tests mlt+BiDir is slightly slower then pure mlt.
But BiDir can help in some complex situations where pure mlt or pt have a hard time!

Re: Indigo Renderer 2.4.10 Released
Can we see those 2 pictures of your glass CAD thing for 2.4.8 vs 2.4.10, Zom-B?
Re: Indigo Renderer 2.4.10 Released
No you cant :/
It was data from a Job offer. After some timeI had, to get the job, sign a NDA,
so I had to take down all the material from the Forum, sorry guys!
