Cinema 4D Help

Post by okazaky » Thu Aug 31, 2006 5:38 am

Hi, I'm new in Indigo Renderer and also a User of Cinema 4D.
The exporter works very well I think but there are still some things I would like to know:

- How ist it possible to make a reflective material for indigo with Cinema 4D?
- How is it possible to add glossy reflections?
- Is it possible to adjust the fallof of light emitters?

Hi Okazaky,

it is all possible ! Use the newest C4D Plugin, you best example loads a c4d scene here from the forum down. With the help of indigo the tags you can provide your materials and more...

I hope could help little.

There is another problem with Textures and Reflections:
I want to assign a texture (jpg) and glossy reflections to a mesh.
But as soon as I activate reflections, the texture won't be rendered anymore :(

Hi, you must in the "material helfer tag" phong activate, here a small example. A shining texture with bumpmap.

Code: Select all

<material>
        <name>name</name>
        <phong>
            <fresnel_scale>0.800000</fresnel_scale>
            <diffuse>0.447060 0.372550 0.254900</diffuse>
            <specular>0.003922 0.003922 0.003922</specular>
            <exponent>10000.000000</exponent>
            <albedo_texture>
                <path>texture.jpg</path>
                <uv_set>albedo</uv_set>
                <gain>1.000000</gain>
                <exponent>2.300000</exponent>
            </albedo_texture>
            <bump_map>
                <path>bump_texture.jpg</path>
                <uv_set>albedo</uv_set>
                <gain>1.000000</gain>
                <exponent>2.300000</exponent>
            </bump_map>
        </phong>
    </material>

Thank you :D
It´s a bit strange but if I want to create a reflective material I have to activate "specular" color channel and not the "reflection" channel in Cinema 4D. By activating the "Reflection" channel indigo renders the material only black without any specular or reflections. But by using "specular color" and small values like 0,5% brightness it works fine. :wink:
