Hi everyone,

I am pleased to announce that the RANCH Renderfarm has come to an agreement with Glare Technologies Limited to provide the first high performance commercial rendering service to Indigo users. We hope to offer the same level of performance, ease of use and quality of service for all the software we support, and are happy to make this first step into the Indigo community. As of now we offer a guaranteed 1224 GHz / 408 cores processing power for each Indigo project, at a very affordable price: $0.19 / ~ 0.12 € per GHz-Hour (metered) and even less with pre-paid subscriptions.

Of special importance is the fact that we are unbiased rendering specialists (most notably we offer the highest performance available today for Maxwell cooperative projects) and that we develop all our software ourselves to optimize our process to the limit of current technology.

We are now entering the beta-test phase, and we have decided to make it public: during the beta-test period, Indigo users will be able to register on the RANCH site and send projects for free! This formula has two advantages: it will help us iron out potential problems, and it will let you try the RANCH at no cost. We will simply limit the maximum render time per Indigo project to 15 minutes and the maximum resolution to 1024 pixels, in order to not penalize our paying customers. Of course these time / definition limits will be removed when the beta is over.

Finally, if you are not yet bored and want to know more about our philosophy as a company (we work quite differently from most renderfarms out there), you can read our RANCH Philosophy document.

So, if you are interested to beta-test the RANCH for Indigo and familiarize yourself with the process, register on the RANCH site and send us an e-mail afterward (on the "Contact us" page) so that we can grant you the beta-tester status for the duration of the public beta-test period. This thread will serve as a way of communication between the RANCH and the Indigo community.

P.S: I also have a small gift: this IGIinfo command-line utility 1.01 will read an IGI file and display in the console the definition, the number of samples, the SPP (Samples Per Pixel) and the rendertime of the IGI. If you don't enter an IGI name as a command-line parameter, it will ask you for one.

Please note that while Indigo is free to use for personal commercial or non-commercial work, it may not be charged for when used on a render farm, nor can it be redistributed in any form, without a commercial license. Please see the file 'license.txt' included with the main Indigo distrubution for more details.

So currently (as long as beta stays) we save 58,14$ (which is ~ 37.59 €)
for res 1024*1024 or for res 1024*768 or what's meant with "1024"?

I'm wondering the same than dougal2, since the license doesn't allow your activity with Indigo... either what you may have a predecessor (and maybe a legal issue)...

1024 means 1024 pixels max width and/or high, so a 1024 x 1024 image works.

Yup, I've been working with Ranch Computing on this project, and I'm happy we've reached public beta stage.
This service should allow people to get some really nice, hi-res renders produced with Indigo, in a reasonable time-frame.

Guys, to be registered as beta-testers (as indicated in the first post):

1) Register on the RANCH web site
2) Send us an e-mail to contact < at > ranchcomputing.com to tell us you want to be an Indigo beta-tester.

Then I will create your beta account and you will receive an e-mail telling you just this.
