[req] Multiple Indigo Instances on Mac
[req] Multiple Indigo Instances on Mac
On Windows, I can open as many instances of Indigo as I want. However, on Mac, I can only open one instance of the program. In fact, if Indigo is already open on Mac and I launch it again (taking an IGS file as parameter), the new scene will load and the current render will stop. Kind of annoying.

... especially when you are rendering the "real" scene and besides want to use the material preview option. The "real" rendering stops and opens the material preview scene.
But I presume that this is a general problem of Mac applications, is that possible?

Re: [req] Multiple Indigo Instances on Mac
As I understand it, Macs only run one app of each kind at once.

Re: [req] Multiple Indigo Instances on Mac
I think you're right.
Depending on what fused is doing with the new Indigo Custom Material in C4D; we could think about a seperate Material Preview App of Indigo, which is only adressed when previewing materials.
Maybe this could be a solution... but twice the full program.
Or maybe something like the client node application, but with a own GUI?
Difficult, but worth collecting ideas about it.

Mee too, but I don't know if this is possible.
However, we definately need to open more than one Instance of Indigo in any case.

Skindigo is Ruby, isnt it?
That wasnt very helpful then, sorry....
you could write a little helper application with this, tho.
one that parses a text file with arguments and launches indigo accordingly. but maybe thats just too circumstantial...

Re: [req] Multiple Indigo Instances on Mac
Let me explain

Re: [req] Multiple Indigo Instances on Mac
what would be a reasonable delay for a practical solution ?

Re: [req] Multiple Indigo Instances on Mac
Opening multiple instances of Indigo should work without problems... just in case.

Re: [req] Multiple Indigo Instances on Mac
Thanks zeitmeister, though I'm not sure how I should read you: should it work already or soon ? By practical I was refering to a solution for an user without computer knowledge, myself can't tell how this script from fused should be used.
