Please Help! Network problem

Post by alffrad » Mon Aug 22, 2011 9:13 am

Hello, I´m having a lot of problems trying to get Indigo to work.

I have a MacBook Pro OS 10.7.1
2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
(master)
Sketchup 8
Skindigo 3.0.15
Indigo 3.0.14

Mac Mini OS 10.6.8
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
(slave)
Sketchup 8
Skindigo 3.0.15
Indigo 3.0.14

First, I´ll try to do network rendering I have read all tutorials and posts and I just can´t get it to work right, I have tried all the configurations possible. (Network Manager, Floating License, Do master search Broadcast etc.. and nothing)
Here is what I get:
Executing '-n s'
Indigo Renderer v3.0.14, OS X 64-bit build.
Licence verified.
Licence type: Indigo 3.x Node.
Licensed to ''
ClientDiscoveryPacketSender thread started.
Listening on port 7100
While connecting to network manager: DNS Lookup failed: gethostbyname() failed
Attempting to connect to master at ...
Connected to master.
Scene already present on slave.

Connection to master terminated.

And also Suddenly I just can't open some of the scenes I was working on, I get this messages:

Error: Scene parsing error: Parse error while parsing double from '1,33'. (In element 'phong', around line 189, column 9)

And:
Error: Scene parsing error: CSModelLoaderExcep: ModelFormatDecoderExcep for model '/var/folders/fn/d0vp32s512d9_pqcdrpf9r840000gn/T/b7e656cb-794d-ba4b-a67d-69c392736073.igmesh': Failed to open file '/var/folders/fn/d0vp32s512d9_pqcdrpf9r840000gn/T/b7e656cb-794d-ba4b-a67d-69c392736073.igmesh' for reading. (In element 'mesh', around line 3, column 9)

I was working in these scenes and the next hour I can't open them...

Please help me !!!

Hello It´s me again, After 3 days of trying network rendering I noticed that if I open some of the example scenes that come with Indigo I CAN DO NETWORK RENDERING, but with my scenes I CAN´T...

I think this is easy to solve but I don't find a way to do it, I have tried to put my scene on the indigo example scenes, also in the indigo folder, also put the file in both computers but none of this works.

Can somebody help me, please!!!

Thanks a lot

Please ! Somebody?

I have deleted All Indigo folders and Applications, ReInstalled indigo 3.0.14 in both computers, ReInstalled Skindigo 3.0.15 on master (on slave I don't have Sketchup installed). And I have the same problem...
If I create a scene the network render does not work, If I open one of the example scenes (caterpillar) I´t WORKS!!! Maybe I´m missing something. When I export from skindigo in render settings/advanced/network rendering/mode where I can select disabled or network master or working master, i have tried with all possible combinations and nothing, also tried to Render directly from Sketchup and also export the scene but nothing happens. It seems that the slave is trying to connect, but I get only these:

Scene file path: '/Users/afr/Library/Application Support/Indigo Renderer/cache/client_network_cache/3456582186.igs'
Indigo Scene Parser Exception: failed to load XML doc from path '/Users/afr/Library/Application Support/Indigo Renderer/cache/client_network_cache/3456582186.igs': Error reading end tag. (Line 166, column 23.)
Connection to master terminated.

In both computers INDIGO/OPTIONS/NETWORK I only have Do master search broadcast selected, As i said before this is the only way I can get connection between computers (master and slave) and only I can get It to work with the caterpillar and the other example scenes that come with indigo.

Im sure I'm missing something please help me...

Thanks in advance.

Hey allfred,

atm network rendering in the latest v3 betas seems to have issues, as you can see here: http://www.indigorenderer.com/forum/vie ... 89&start=0

Ono already answered to take a look at it, and maybe with the next version it will all work smoothly.
Since Glare developed on Win systems there is a good chance for Mac based bugs to slip through the testing phase before releasing :/

Feel free to add a commend and push the mentioned post with your issue!

Hey Zom-B, thanks for the replay :!:

I have read the post... but why do the Caterpillar example scene Works fine on network rendering?

Thank you!

By the way nice renders and animations you have in the page, I like the kitchen (both of them)

I get the same problem when attempting network rendering.
