Eileen Gray Transat Chair

Modelled in SketchUp using Whaat's great Artisan plugin and using my own textures (mapped with a little help from the guys at the Skindigo forum

) The first model I've managed that I feel happy enough with to put in this section!

Comments and critique more than welcome.

I uploaded the leather to the database, enjoy!

I think thats awesome! Great work on the leather, I followed your thread on the UV issues with interest.

Bertrand Benoit posted a free 2k version of a very nice glazed brick material the other day, so I thought I'd have a go at my own version of the simple scene he'd created. It gave me an excuse to finally (2 years on!!!) use this chair I modeled in a scene! (I wasn't far wrong with my last comment above!

) Also gave me the chance to try out this dusty floor material I'd been working on. I'm pretty pleased with the results!

Looks great Bubs, only the leather maybe has some to high exponent for my taste...
Is there any free source for your dirt map for the floor too? It looks really nice!

here you go... I used this over my diffuse map on a 'screen' layer set to about 50% opacity. Then used the inverse as a 'darken' / 'burn' overlay on my exponent map. It's not very high res, but I think that actually works in its favour as the dust shouldn't be sharp anyway...

Well the leather look much more realistic now!

..I didn't get the floor settings though: they seemed more like photoshop-oriented tips.
Didn't you use a second diffuse material blended via the map you posted?

Thank you very much! Can't take all the credit tho, I basically just tried to copy Bertrand's scene! If I can get even 10% of his quality I'd be more than happy!

Yeah this was a quick hack and slash photoshop job... My hope is to develop the material 'properly' as you describe, in Indigo... but for this small scene I found it was easier to do it this way, and I was happy with the result.
